Step 1 - Game Files

Please provide your main game files.

How to find game files?

You can find Balatro's game files with steam. Click Balatro > the gear icon > Properties... > Installed Files > Browse...

This will open your computer's file browser to the Balatro folder.

On Windows and Linux Systems the file Balatro.exe is the one you want.

On MacOS systems you will need to right click Balatro and click "Show Package Contents". Then navigate to Contents > Resources and the Balatro.love in here will be the file you want.

Step 2 - Choose Platform

Please choose which platform to build the app for.

Step 3 - Downloading Assets

Please wait while nessicary files are downloaded...

Step 4 - Metadata

In this step you can custimize the details of the app.

What is the bundle ID?

The bundle ID is what is used to identity an app.

If the bundle ID changes then the app is considered a different app. This can be used to install multiple copies of the app.

If unsure, you should leave this value alone.

Step 5 - Patching App

This step is where the app is made from your game files. It may take a few minutes to complete. When it is done the app will download.

Step 6 - Done!

The app has been patched and now you are able to install it. If for some reason it did not download, or you want to download it again, you may click the button below.

How to install the app?

If you did the process on your device, you should be able to open the download to install it.

If you did it on your PC you may either

Copy the file to your device and install it using it's file manager.
If your device is in developer mode, install it using adb.

How to install the app?

It is a bit tricky to sideload apps on iOS. Below are a few different methods:

If your device supports it, TrollStore is recommened. It allows infinite app installations without any expiry. You can see the supported device versions, and how to install it on ios.cfw.guide.
If not you can use a computer to install using Sideloady or AltStore (classic). ios.cfw.guide has instructions for these.
If you often find yourself without a computer you can setup SideStore which after inital setup can resign apps without a computer.

How to install mods?

Unfortunately, most android file managers are quite bad for this purpose. As such I recommend using Material Files (It can be install on F-Droid and Google Play).

After installing Material Files, you can then open the hamburger menu on the top left > Add Storage... > External Storage > the hamburger menu on the top left > The name of the app > Use this folder > allow.

This will add a new folder to the sidebar with your game saves. Lovely mods will always be in ASET > Mods and game saves will either be in ASET or a folder of the game name (it depends on the game).

Once installed, and the app has been run once, there will be a new folder under On My iPhone/iPad named after the app. Lovely mods will be put in here under game > Mods.

You may install mods like normal in here. You can follow the Steamodded install guide from step 3 here to install Steamodded. Make sure to replace any mentions of %AppData%/Balatro with game/ModsASET/Mods.

What mods are recommended?

Steamodded is required for most mods. You can follow the Steamodded install guide from step 3 here to install Steamodded. Make sure to replace any mentions of %AppData%/Balatro with game/ModsASET/Mods.

Sticky Fingers or MobileLikeDragging to control the game more like the native mobile apps.

MobilePatcher is a mod that changes a few things in balatro to work better on mobile devices. Each patch is does is in a different file and can be deleted if you do not want it. If when you launch the game, it is mostly covered in black (usually on google pixel devices) this is required!
